This New Year, Take A Glass of Kindness
This old New Year’s song never fails to get us sentimental about the passing year, along with all the people we met, the recipes, and memories we made–all or some of them, good or bad. Although the new year is a great opportunity to make new changes and promises, take on bigger challenges and dive into new ventures, the music is a tender reminder to be kind to days of auld lang syne, old long since.
Should all acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind
Should all acquaintance be forgot
For auld lang syne
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We’ll take a cup of kindness yet
For auld lang syne
Whatever being “kind” means to different people: honor, pass on, learn from the past, learn from the old, cherish, treasure, to not forget to remember, we’ll take a cup, and send everyone good cheers for the new year!
