Shepherd’s Pie

  1. In a saucepan, heat oil and pan-fry chicken until the edges turn brown.
  2. Add the water, cover and boil. Stir in Mama Sita’s Shepherd’s Stew/Pie Seasoning Mix and simmer until chicken is tender, adding water if necessary.
  3. Add carrots and potatoes and continue cooking until tender and the sauce thickens.
  4. Add peas and red bell pepper continue simmering for 1 minute more.
  5. Remove from heat and serve.

To make Shepherd’s Pie:

  1. Transfer the contents onto a greased oven-proof dish (size: 23 cm x 16 cm).
  2. Top with either pastry crust, brushed with egg wash, or mashed potatoes, and bake in an oven preheated to 190 C (375 F) for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden.
  3. Remove from heat and serve.
